Senior Safeguarding Practitioner

Plan and provide supervision, support, training and advice and act as a source of specialist knowledge in matters relating to safeguarding adults, predominantly responsible for acute and community adult services. Work in allocated areas under the direction of the senior safeguarding team. Develop partnership working with statutory and voluntary organisations to aid communication and provide better outcomes for adults and families. Ensure robust communication takes place minimising risks to the adults, families, and the organisation. To be available and accessible to frontline staff and safeguarding colleagues, both within the safeguarding office and within care environments. To line manage the safeguarding adult practitioner and the safeguarding assistant practitioner.
Main duties of the job
Develop multi agency/ professional working partnerships and co-locate when appropriate to improve outcomes for adults and families.Work as team member within the safeguarding structure promoting the service and developing team skills.Attend multi agency safeguarding meetings as required.Provide support and advice on safeguarding issues to the RCHT and CPFT teams. Ensure there is a robust record keeping and storage system in place with the ability to evidence the supervision process and contact discussions.Support Deputy manager for integrated Safeguarding Services in the implementation of new guidance around safeguarding issues.Assist staff with referrals to Cornwall Council Safeguarding Adults Team.Provide case feedback from multi agency networking and ensure information is shared at appropriate meetings such as Clinical Quality and Assurance Group (CQAG)Identify and inform the Deputy manager for Integrated Safeguarding Services of gaps in service provision.Assist Deputy manager for Integrated Safeguarding Services in policy development.Identify, plan, deliver and evaluate safeguarding training for health professionals. Engage in and support Patient Safety Incident Review Framework (PSIRF) process and implementation of recommendations from these and Local Learning Reviews.Support staff participating in safeguarding enquiries.
